Ontarians stuck paying for Liberal mistakes on SAMS system: NDP

Monique Taylor, Ontario NDP Community and Social Services Critic, issued the following statement.

“Today we learned that the public is on the hook for another $23 million because the Liberal government didn’t bother to make sure the SAMS system worked properly before they brought it online.  As a result of Liberal negligence, social assistance cheques went missing and personal tax documents were mishandled. Vulnerable Ontarians suffered needlessly, and social assistance workers were forced to clean up the government’s mess. The blame for the ongoing failure of the SAMS system rests squarely on the shoulders of Kathleen Wynne and her government. Unfortunately, Ontarians are stuck paying the price.”
