Tabuns: Liberals must stop obstructing the financial accountability officer

Queen’s Park – Peter Tabuns, NDP Critic for Energy, the Environment and Climate Change, issued the following statement about the Liberal government’s ongoing refusal to cooperate with the Financial Accountability Officer regarding the sell-off of Hydro One.

“Kathleen Wynne talks a good game about transparency and accountability, but today we’re learning that she prefers to keep Ontarians in the dark about the messy details surrounding the Liberal sell-off of Hydro One. Rather than stonewalling the Financial Accountability Office at every turn, and hiding behind the excuse of ‘cabinet confidentiality’, she must immediately release all of the documents requested by this independent officer of the Legislature. The Premier must let the FAO do his job and respect the fact that Hydro One belongs to the people of Ontario, not to the Liberal party.”
