Statement from Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath on Simcoe North By-Election

Queen’s Park – Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath issued the following statement.

“I want to congratulate Patrick Brown on his election as the new MPP for Simcoe North. While Patrick and I have different visions of how best to grow Ontario and support families, I want to welcome him to the Legislature. I look forward to the constructive and vigorous debates that we are sure to have over the coming months and years.

 

“I also want to congratulate and thank Elizabeth Van Houtte, our strong NDP candidate in Simcoe North, as well as the many volunteers who helped us run a positive campaign. Together we focused on what matters most to the people of Simcoe North, like standing up for local health care services and stopping Kathleen Wynne’s sell-off of Hydro One. Ontario’s New Democrats will continue to work hard and to stand up for families who are falling behind under this Liberal government.”
