Take Action

New Democrats are taking action on many important issues facing Ontario.

Below are links to a number of our current campaigns.  Sign on and help take action.

Own More. Pay Less. The NDP Plan to Fix Hydro

Kathleen Wynne’s sell-off Hydro One has driven up hydro bills across Ontario. We're all paying the price for her bad decisions.
Add your name to support Andrea Horwath's plan to bring hydro back under public control and drop our hydro bills by 30%.

Protect All Tenants From Unfair Rent Hikes

With rent increases of hundreds of dollars or even $1,000 a month, many Ontario households are at a tipping point. Without rent control, tenants in buildings built after 1991 are at risk of losing their homes from unpredictable, unfair and unchecked rent increases. Add your name to protect every renter from unfair rent hikes, with the NDP bill to close rent-control loopholes.

Healthcare You Can Count On

It’s time for us to build a healthcare system that puts you first - we need healthcare you can count on. Your health and the health of your family comes first, and it should come first for the government too – but instead, it has become the silent crisis of this Government.

Demand a $15 Minimum Wage

Nobody who works full time in Ontario should live in poverty, but that’s the reality facing too many people today. Every Ontario family deserves a fair wage and a decent living. That’s why Andrea Horwath is calling for a $15 minimum wage in Ontario.

Andrea is standing with organizations across the province who are demanding action to increase standards for all workers – starting with those living below the poverty line.

Protect our Water

If you agree that the water in Ontario should be protected so it is there for generations to come, please add your name to our petition.

People are worried about what commercial bottled water plants could mean to future generations. The Ontario NDP is proposing an Ontario Water Strategy that will be based on the principle that decisions about water must be based on the public interest and public access to sustainable water sources.

We need to ensure that Ontario is planning for its water needs now and for future generations.

Demand Transparency Now

The Financial Accountability Office of Ontario has called out the Wynne Government for hiding key information from Ontarians about the sale of Hydro One and the cuts to healthcare.

What the Office’s statement shows is that Kathleen Wynne is more interested in keeping the Ontario Liberals in power than standing by what’s best for Ontario Families. We need to speak out together in a clear and resounding voice: misleading the people of Ontario on the sale of public assets and cuts to services is unacceptable.

Demand safe infrastructure for Northern Ontario families

Add your name to the petition and join the Ontario NDP in helping to protect northern families and ensuring our roads and bridges are safe.

Save our Schools

The Wynne Liberals are applying enormous pressure to close and sell-off schools in Toronto, while cutting provincial education funding by up to $500 million. We all know schools provide tremendous public value as community hubs, beyond the traditional use of classrooms.

Affordable Childcare

The Ontario NDP supports a cross-Canada plan for affordable, high-quality, childcare. Sign our pledge and help establish affordable childcare here in Ontario and across Canada.

Shared Public Assets

The Ontario NDP is standing up against privatization. Our  shared public assets — such as hydro, the LCBO and OLG belong to the people of Ontario and are not for sale.  Our shared public assets provide more affordable services, create thousands of good Ontario jobs, and are accountable to all Ontarians.

Unpaid Internships

The Ontario NDP is calling to end the of exploitation of unpaid interns. Unpaid interns deserve the same protections  as other workers in Ontario.

Winter Road Maintenance

Privatization of snow removal and road maintenance has been a failure. You can tell right away when you drive across the Manitoba border, because the roads are properly cleared and maintained by public workers. Want to report a problem road? Here is the place.
