Ontario needs to provide emergency funding to help child care centres remain afloat and support parents who help keep our province running. And we need clear protections in place to keep our children and child care workers safe.
The strongest economies are ones that support working families, particularly women. But right now, essential workers are struggling to keep their children taken care of. As we plan to slowly re-open the economy, we must plan knowing that no parent wants their child going back to child care without assurances that they or staff won’t get sick.
That's why we're demanding emergency funding along with clear health and safety guidelines for the child care sector when centres do eventually reopen.
