Hamilton families deserve better GO service now: NDP

HAMILTON — On Monday, Hamilton East–Stoney Creek NDP MPP Paul Miller issued a statement following news that two-way all-day GO train service won’t be extended to Hamilton until 2031:

“World class cities need world class transit. Hamilton and the surrounding area is growing, and we need our transportation network to grow with it — to connect people efficiently and comfortably with work, school and opportunity.

The Doug Ford and Metrolinx plan to force families and commuters to wait over a decade for all-day train service to Toronto is completely unacceptable. Hamiltonians deserve smoother commutes — which means more time with their families — now.

New Democrats are calling on Ford to direct Metrolinx to get this done much faster – because two-way all-day go for Hamiltonians is already overdue. We’re also going to keep standing up for better transit right here in Hamilton, including the Hamilton LRT.”
