Ontario NDP wishes the Jewish community a peaceful and meaningful Rosh Hashanah

TORONTO — Interim Ontario NDP Leader Peter Tabuns and Jill Andrew, NDP critic for Culture and Heritage, released the following statement on Rosh Hashanah:

"As the Jewish community across this province and world usher in the start of the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, we would like to extend best wishes to the entire community on behalf of the Official Opposition.

This is a time to come together with family, friends and loved ones to celebrate all that has passed, and to welcome all that the future holds. Rosh Hashanah is a time to ask for forgiveness while renewing hope.

On behalf of Ontario New Democrats, I hope all our Jewish friends and neighbours have a joyous, safe and healthy New Year. May the year 5783 be one of peace, justice and harmony across Ontario, Canada and the world."

Here's wishing you a happy and sweet new year! Shana tova u'metuka!”
