Statement from Andrea Horwath to mark Yom HaShoah

QUEEN’S PARK — Andrea Horwath, Leader of the Official Opposition New Democrats, issued the following statement to mark Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day:

“Yom HaShoah is a solemn time to honour the memories of six million Jewish people murdered in the Holocaust, and to ensure we never forget the atrocities committed against them. It’s the collective responsibility of us all to ensure that future generations hear these stories.

Antisemitism has been on the rise here in Ontario and around the world. On behalf of the Ontario NDP, we pledge to redouble the work of stamping out antisemitic hate and all forms of racism and xenophobia. Anti-racism work must include not only vigilance, but also action and investment from governments at all levels.

On this Holocaust Remembrance Day, and always, we must never forget.”
