Statement from NDP deputy leader Sara Singh about Ford's job cuts

NDP Deputy Leader Sara Singh released the following statement in response to reports that the Doug Ford government has sent a memo to thousands of workers who deliver public services, asking workers to leave voluntarily as the first step in job cuts.

"The Ford government’s memo to thousands of workers makes it clear that Ford is eliminating jobs, and cutting the public services that everyday people count on.

Doug Ford has not told Ontario families what services are being cut, or how many jobs he plans to cut. He has clearly been planning to slash jobs all along — but has been making things up to hide it.

Folks are worried that Wednesday’s memo is only the beginning, and the NDP shares their concern. People deserve better.”
