Statement from NDP Deputy Leader Sara Singh on Ford government changes to cannabis plans

NDP Deputy Leader and Opposition critic for the Attorney General Sara Singh released the following statement regarding news that Doug Ford will restrict the number of brick-and-mortar cannabis stores in Ontario to just 25:

"The Liberal plan to open just 40 cannabis storefronts was a disaster waiting to happen — an open invitation to the illegal cannabis market to operate in Ontario. Doug Ford's change of plan to restrict the number of cannabis stores to just 25 is going to make that problem so much worse.

People have been failed in the rollout of legal recreational cannabis.

Doug Ford is allowing the criminal element and illegal cannabis market to thrive, and people deserve better."
