Northern Ontario needs more doctors.

Every community in Northern Ontario is facing a shortage of doctors and healthcare professionals. Families across the North have gone without proper health care for far too long.

Northern communities have the right to get the healthcare they need without long waits or long drives. The Liberals and the Conservatives’ “Highway medicine” pitch is not a solution.

The Ontario NDP have a plan to fix health care for the North by hiring 300 doctors – including 100 specialists and 40 mental health practitioners – to get Northern communities the care they need.

Creating a Northern Health Travel Grant Guarantee to ensure Northerners never have to wait longer than 14 days to be paid back for health travel.
Declaring the opioid crisis a public health emergency and ensuring people struggling with addiction can access the support they need.
