Save Overdose Prevention Sites

Shutting down six overdose prevention sites during a worsening opioid crisis puts lives at stake.

On March 29th, Ford’s government denied approval to 6 previously approved overdose prevention sites. This move leaves the province with only 15 operating sites, leaving regions like Windsor without this crucial support and burdening already overworked emergency rooms.

We need to give people suffering from addictions a chance at survival. The Ontario government needs to fund the overdose prevention sites based on need, not an arbitrary cap; and listen to the front-line workers who perform this life-saving work.
