Ford likes to say Ontario is “Open for Business”, but what’s business without workers? When Ford got into office, he went to work repealing hard fought labour reform like a livable minimum wage. In a move that tramples on collective bargaining rights, he passed legislation to cap wage increases in the public sector. While auto workers lost their jobs, Ford didn’t put up a fight. And while temporary workers die on the job, he didn’t ensure their safety, he instead rejected all NDP measures to protect temp agency workers and hold parent companies liable.
