Demand better for Ontario's workers

Jobs don’t last a lifetime like they used to, and many workers don’t have even basic benefits. It’s time to make life easier for all workers - starting with closing the gaps left in Wynne's Bill 148.

Andrea Horwath's plan to fix Ontario’s labour laws:

  • Scrap the laws that allow workers – including servers – to be paid less than minimum wage
  • Give all workers access to five paid sick or emergency leave days each year
  • Three vacation weeks per year, up from two
  • 10 days paid leave for survivors of domestic violence to access medical care, find safe housing or participate in legal proceedings
  • We’ll make it harder for companies to consider long-time workers “contractors” instead of employees
  • And make it easier to join a union and get a fair first contract
