Recent reports of anti-Black racism at the Peel District School Board have left Black students, staff, parents, and community members concerned that the Ford government is not doing enough to address anti-Black racism and discrimination in our schools.
Ontario’s NDP strongly believes that the government needs to take action to ensure Ontario is a province where Black students feel safe, supported, and free to learn.
While anti-Black racism continues in our schools, the Ford government has only budgeted $1000 for the year to initiatives to combat racism. The Ford government must commit to fighting anti-Black racism and discrimination.
