Stop the Campbellville Quarry

Let’s demand accountability from Ford and his government for the broken promises to Milton, and let's stop the quarry from reopening!

The NDP, led by critic Sandy Shaw and supported by Marit Stiles and local candidate Edie Strachan, is fighting back against the reopening of the Campbellville Quarry, a move that betrays the community’s trust and jeopardizes our cherished natural landscapes.

In 2020, assurances were given by Doug Ford and then-PC MPP Parm Gill to the Milton community: if the people did not want the quarry reopened, it would remain closed. These promises have not been kept. Despite the clear opposition from the community and Milton Council, the proposal for a full-fledged mining operation threatens our environment, water supply, and the serenity of our community spaces.

Ford's inaction and broken promises reveal a disregard for the community of Milton and the values we hold dear. The decrease in inspection rates by 64 percent under Ford’s governance, as highlighted by Ontario’s Auditor General, underscores a troubling trend of neglecting our environment and communities.

Milton deserves leaders who listen, respect, and act on their concerns, not empty promises that leave our green spaces and community well-being at risk. Ford’s failure to act in the interest of Milton and Ontario’s environmental preservation speaks volumes.

It's time to stand united in our call for action. Support Edie Strachan and the NDP in our commitment to protect Milton's natural heritage and hold Ford accountable. Let’s ensure our voices are heard loud and clear: we demand respect for our community, our environment, and the promises made to us.
