Indigenous youth deserve meaningful progress from Province: Statement from Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath

Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath issued the following statement.

“I am deeply concerned about the findings of the 2017 First Nations Youth Inquest Report Card from Aboriginal Legal Services . This report shows that Premier Wynne is not acting quickly enough to implement jury recommendations for protecting the health and well-being of First Nations youth. We are not seeing meaningful progress and that’s not good enough.

Indigenous people deserve equitable access to education, healthcare, clean drinking water, and public services right away. The government of Ontario must take significant action without delay to improve the lives of indigenous youth.  Lives depend on it.”
