Statement by Ontario NDP Education Critic Lisa Gretzky

Windsor – Ontario NDP Education Critic Lisa Gretzky issued the following statement:

 “The Premier and her Minister of Education have shown little interest in reaching an agreement with teachers for almost a year. At today’s meeting with education sector representatives, Kathleen Wynne claimed that she wants to see all parties back at the negotiating table, but it’s clear that she still refuses to intervene and protect current class size caps in classrooms. The Premier has a responsibility to protect and enhance students’ learning experience across the province. Students and families are already feeling the impact of more than a decade of chronic underfunding of education by the Premier and her government. They deserve better. ”
