Statement from Ontario NDP Finance Critic John Vanthof on the FAO annual report

Ontario NDP Finance Critic John Vanthof issued the following statement on the FAO annual report.

“Today’s report from the Financial Accountability Office of Ontario (FAO) makes clear that Kathleen Wynne’s privatization agenda, giving up dividends from profitable Crown corporations – particularly Hydro One – is about doing what’s good for the Liberal party at the expense of the people of Ontario.

Right after the election, Ontario’s debt will grow. One-time revenues from the sell-off of Hydro One will be gone as will the dividend benefits for Ontarians.  This FAO report confirms that, once again, Ontarians can’t trust what this Liberal government is saying.

I don’t blame Ontario families for worrying about which of their public assets Kathleen Wynne will put on the auction block next. We simply can’t let her do any more damage.”
