FACT CHECK: Ford and Elliott’s own words were lies

QUEEN’S PARK — The Toronto Star has revealed Premier Doug Ford and Health Minister Christine Elliott lied when they said their decision to cancel many public health protections was based on expert advice.

Now, according to CBC News, epidemiologists say the province could be heading towards daily case counts of 2,000.

“Doug Ford and Christine Elliott repeatedly said they were taking the advice of medical experts when they cancelled public health measures in hot zones. They lied. They gambled with people’s lives and now experts project Ontario could hit 2,000 new cases a day next month,” said NDP Leader Andrea Horwath.
