Marit Stiles hosts child care town hall in Hamilton

HAMILTON – Marit Stiles, Leader of the Ontario NDP, visited Hamilton to host a town hall and hear concerns about the challenges of accessing affordable childcare in Hamilton.

“As a mom, I know that just being a parent is stressful – let alone trying to navigate a broken childcare system,” said Stiles. “Affordable childcare isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity. That’s why I’m fighting for a province where kids, childcare workers, and parents are put first.”

“We’re hosting this town hall tonight because we know the school year is right around the corner, and we know affordable childcare access is top of every parent’s mind,” said MPP Monique Taylor (Hamilton Mountain). “We know the status quo isn’t working in Hamilton, and we’re here to change it.”

“People reach out to me constantly for help with finding affordable childcare, as they navigate years-long wait lists,” said MPP Sandy Shaw (Hamilton West – Ancaster – Dundas). “Hearing their stories makes me want to fight for better – because Hamilton deserves better.”
