TORONTO — The NDP’s final pitch to voters: the NDP will stop the cuts, and invest in universal mental health care, dental care and more affordability for people. The NDP’s final arguments are now on the airwaves.
A new ad on TV and digital screens called “Not these guys,” is running, buoyed by a wave of donations to NDP candidates.
“Who can we trust to fix health care? Not these guys. The Liberals helped break it. Conservative cuts made it worse,” says the voiceover in a one of the NDP’s closing ads while on-screen text reminds voters that the Liberal government fired 1,600 nurses, and the Ford Conservatives cut $2.1 billion from mental health care.
“The NDP will stop the cuts. Fix health and seniors care. And save families thousands,” the ad ends on Horwath.
Those ads — along an ads with mental health care and one where everyday Ontarians talk about why they are pulling for Andrea Horwath — will play everywhere in Ontario, thanks to stronger than expected donations, including to 905 campaigns.
