Reality Check: Doug’s Buddies

TORONTO — Today in Question Period, Premier Ford told the Assembly, “I don’t even know anybody from big, huge corporations.”

Just to remind the Premier:

• He knows Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment CEO Michael Friisdahl – he had him over to his mom’s backyard for a private off-the-books meeting in early July.
• He knows the CEO of 7-11 – he flew all the way to Texas to meet with them in secret before his government proposed letting them sell alcohol in their stores.
• He knows the CEO of Walmart – they met right before Walmart and other big box stores got special treatment during the pandemic while small businesses got shut down.
