Email Marketing Specialist

If so, this is your opportunity to shape and grow the email program of the Ontario New Democratic Party, the biggest grassroots network in Ontario politics.

We are looking for an energetic, organized, and results-oriented individual to join the Ontario NDP’s digital team. As an Email Marketing Specialist, you will drive our email strategy, grow our supporter base, and engage with Ontarians on issues that matter most to them.

The Email Marketing Specialist will report to the Digital Director as part of the Digital Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement targeted email marketing campaigns to foster deeper supporter connections, drive action, and support fundraising goals.
  • Work with the Digital Director and team to develop cohesive marketing strategies that align with our organizational goals and drive campaign success.
  • Design and manage automated email marketing journeys based on event triggers, customer attributes, and past behaviors.
  • Utilize segmentation techniques to deliver personalized content that maximizes engagement and drives conversions.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, and unsubscribe rates to evaluate and improve campaign effectiveness.
  • Conduct A/B testing to optimize email content, subject lines, deployment timing, and segmentation strategies.
  • Maintain and grow our email list, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Work closely with content creators, graphic designers, and other team members to produce cohesive and impactful email campaigns.
  • Provide regular reports and insights on email campaign performance to the Digital Director and other stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience: Relevant work experience in email marketing, preferably in a digital marketing or political campaign environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with email marketing platforms (e.g., ActionKit, HubSpot, Salesforce, Mailchimp), basic HTML/CSS, and familiarity with CRM tools.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data and derive actionable insights to drive campaign success.
  • Project Management: Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Creativity: A creative mindset with the ability to develop engaging and persuasive email content.
  • Political Acumen: Demonstrated strategic political judgment and existing knowledge of Ontario politics and current affairs.
  • Decision-Making:Comfortable and confident making informed decisions in a fast-paced campaign environment.
  • Independent & Collaborative: Able to work independently, take initiative, and work as part of a team, demonstrating strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Passion for Change: A commitment to the values and mission of the Ontario NDP and a passion for driving progressive change.
  • Campaign Experience: Election campaign working experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual: French is considered a strong asset.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

This position is full-time, temporary – one year with the possibility of an extension and is compensated as per Appendix IV of the ONDP Collective Agreement (Class 3: $57,147 - $61,990).

The ONDP has an office at 2069 Lakeshore Blvd West, Etobicoke, ON M8V 3Z4.

In recognition of the time and labour involved in preparing for and attending an interview, the ONDP will compensate interviewees at a fixed rate of $75 per interview. If a candidate is asked to prepare a presentation or assignment for an interview, the ONDP will compensate the candidate for that work at the hourly rate for the position, based on the number of hours the hiring committee believes the task should take.
