Del Duca campaigning in Oakville: home of Liberal gas plant scandal
Steven Del Duca’s Liberals are in Oakville today, home of the Liberal gas plant scandal that cost Ontarians $1.1 billion and drove up hydro rates.
It was one of the worst scandals and cover-ups in Ontario’s history, and it cost Ontarians a lot of money.
When they were in government, the Liberals claimed the gas plant cancellations would cost $230 million. They actually cost $1.1 billion - and people paid for it on their hydro bill, costing Ontarians even more after the Liberals sold off Hydro One.
The Ford Conservatives are no better: they broke their promise to cut Hydro rates by 12%, instead increasing hydro bills even more.
