Ford government continues targeting Ontario’s vulnerable with cuts to children and youth at risk

QUEEN’S PARK – Monique Taylor, the Official Opposition NDP’s Child and Youth Services critic, issued the following statement in response to the Ford government’s cuts to children and youth at risk:

“After years of having to do more with less under successive Liberal governments, Ontario’s Children’s Aid Societies were already stretched to the limit. Now instead of making things better for children and youth at risk, Doug Ford is once again forcing Ontario’s most vulnerable to bear the burden of his cuts.
Children and youth who are at risk rely on a fully-funded child protection system. These cuts will impact the ability of child protection agencies to serve children and families, making things even more difficult for already vulnerable children and young people. These cuts can only make children less safe.

Ontario’s vulnerable children and youth deserve so much better than the Ford government’s cruel cuts. They deserve a government that has their best interests at heart and works hard to make their lives better.”
