Ford’s alarming cuts to public health puts Toronto families at risk

QUEEN’S PARK — Marit Stiles, NDP MPP for Davenport, released the following statement in response to news that the Ford government is cutting about $1 billion from Toronto Public Health funding:

“It’s alarming that Doug Ford is making such deep cuts to a municipal agency that is responsible for vital programs like infectious disease control. The Ford Conservatives’ cuts to Toronto Public Health will make the millions of people who live and work in Toronto less safe. Families have a right to be worried that this disturbing step backwards on public health will put their loved ones at risk.”
