GLOVER: Carney must stop Ford’s reckless waterfront takeover

QUEEN’S PARK — Ontario NDP MPP Chris Glover (Spadina—Fort York) joined concerned parents and community members at Little Norway Park this morning, calling on Prime Minister Mark Carney to stop Doug Ford’s disastrous takeover of the Toronto Waterfront:

“Billy Bishop is Canada’s smallest airport, located in the most congested part of Canada’s busiest city,” says Glover. “The airport would be the smallest in North America to host jets.

“Billy Bishop relies on Transport Canada Safety Standards exemptions to operate. The Waterfront School is just 200 metres from the runway where Doug Ford wants to have jets landing and taking off every two to three minutes.”

“Doug Ford cannot be trusted to keep his hands off the Toronto Islands and Little Norway Park. That’s why we’re calling on the Prime Minister to take action: stop this expansion and save our waterfront.”
