“The grift that keeps on giving”: Stiles calls on Premier to fire the Minister of Labour as OPP confirms investigation into Skills Development Fund recipient

QUEEN’S PARK — Ontario’s Official Opposition Leader Marit Stiles is calling on Doug Ford to fire his Minister of Labour, David Piccini, for gross mismanagement of the Skills Development Fund program, after news broke that the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has opened an investigation related to Keel Digital Solutions:

“Doug Ford’s Minister of Favours has spent seven weeks dodging responsibility and throwing out excuses,” said Stiles. “Now, we’ve got yet another police investigation connected to this scandal-ridden government. Minister Piccini admitted that he handpicked Keel Digital Solutions to receive millions of dollars despite low scores and close personal connections.

“Let’s not forget, the Minister jetted off to Paris to attend Keel Digital Solution’s lobbyist Michael Rudderham’s wedding, and enjoyed rink-side hockey seats with their executive Peter Zackarow.

“Let me be clear: Premier Doug Ford is responsible for this farce. He can't ignore the calls to fire this Minister any longer. He needs to fire his Minister, now.”
