“It doesn’t even show up on my polling” Premier Ford refuses to take accountability about code words used for Greenbelt cover-up

TORONTO – Earlier today, the Premier brushed off questions about the Information and Privacy Commissioner’s findings about staff within his government using code words and personal e-mails to cover up the Greenbelt fiasco.

“People don’t give two hoots about this Greenbelt stuff. In my polling, this doesn’t even show up.

“The Premier seems to think that he is not responsible for what happens in his government or accountable to the people of Ontario,” said Marit Stiles, Leader of the Official Opposition NDP. “His government broke their legal obligations and the people’s trust – it's time to take this seriously.

“Ontarians care – about the Greenbelt, about having a government that doesn’t break the law. They care about honesty, transparency, and having a Premier they can trust. If the Premier cannot see that, or rather is choosing not to see that, he is shutting out the people he is supposed to serve.”
