Quotes
NDP Leader Andrea Horwath
“Liberals and Conservatives have taken turns shortchanging people living in northern and rural parts of Ontario. John has been fighting to change that, and he’ll have the full weight of an NDP government behind him in 2022. New Democrats believe the North deserves it’s fair share, and I know, together with John, that means we’ll be able to stop hallway medicine and long waits in northern hospitals, help seniors stay in their homes longer with proper investment in northern home care, and we’ll finally be able to expand broadband province wide.”
John Vanthof, NDP candidate for Timiskaming-Cochrane
“It has been an incredible honour to represent the people of Timiskaming-Cochrane as their MPP. I will never take for granted the people who have entrusted me with the responsibility to fight for our community — for the northern families who deserve more. I hope to be able to continue to represent my northern neighbours as I put accessible broadband, safer highways and easier-to-access northern health care and long-term care at the top of the agenda. Northerners have always had to work a little harder to get the same as folks living in other parts of the province, and I believe that stops under Andrea Horwath’s leadership. When New Democrats get to work improving health care, long-term care and home care in 2022, we’ll make sure Northern Ontario gets what it needs.”
