Justin Kong chosen to be the NDP candidate in Scarborough North

SCARBOROUGH — New Democrats in Scarborough North have chosen Justin Kong to be their NDP candidate in the 2022 provincial election.

Quotes:

NDP MPP for Scarborough Southwest, Doly Begum

“Justin is exactly the kind of leader people in Scarborough need to fight for better conditions for workers and a more affordable life for families. People in Scarborough have had to deal with years of Doug Ford’s cuts to their hospitals, low wages for essential workers, and unaffordable housing. As an experienced community and workers’ rights advocate, Justin will be a strong voice at Queen’s Park for Scarborough residents. He’ll join the NDP in fixing what the Liberals and Conservatives broke – he’ll fight to improve Scarborough’s chronically underfunded hospitals and broken home care and long-term care, plus improve conditions for frontline workers, fix the affordable housing crisis, and help small businesses get back on their feet.”

Justin Kong, NDP candidate for Scarborough North

“Life is getting harder, and costs keep going up, for people in Scarborough. For years, Liberal and Conservative governments have left the people of Scarborough behind, refusing to properly fund or staff our schools and local hospitals. Ford keeps cutting health care, getting rid of protections for essential frontline workers, and refusing to address the skyrocketing cost of housing and child care. I’m so excited to join Andrea Horwath and the NDP to fix what past governments have broken and protect what matters most to folks in Scarborough — from racial equity to health care to better wages for workers.”
