NDP joins Ontario Health Coalition in standing against Ford’s privatization agenda 

NICKEL BELT - The Ontario Health Coalition is holding rallies across Ontario for the next two weeks to push back against Ford’s health care privatization schemes. NDP Shadow Minister for Health MPP France Gélinas (Nickel Belt) released the following statement:  

“This government and their investor friends know that there is a lot of money to be made off the back of sick Ontarians.” said Gélinas. “We are seeing an increasing number of seniors and vulnerable Ontarians having to pull out their credit cards instead of their OHIP cards to get the health care they need. It is unacceptable that Ford is making Ontarians choose between long wait lists or expensive health care bills. The NDP stands in solidarity with the Ontario Health Coalition, and their efforts in pushing back against Ford’s privatization of our health care. Ford and his Conservatives need to do the right thing and stop selling off Ontario health care to the highest bidder, and start properly funding our public health care system so that every Ontarian can get care based on their needs, not their ability to pay.”
