NDP responds to change in symptom list for students and children

QUEEN’S PARK — NDP Education critic Marit Stiles issued the following statement in response to the Ford government’s changed guidelines for student symptoms and testing:

“Parents are getting whiplash from all of the contradictory instructions from the Ford government.

Parents who spent hours and hours in line this week with their little ones waiting for a test, and those who are home right now with little ones waiting for test results, have a right to be frustrated at the horrible lack of clarity on when kids need a test, and when they should return to school or daycare.

That frustration is made so much worse by the fact that testing lines are so long, and the wait for results takes days — putting a lot of working parents into impossible situations."
