NDP statement on the Auditor General’s report on Laurentian University

QUEEN’S PARK — NDP MPPs France Gélinas (Nickel Belt) and Jamie West (Sudbury) released the following statement in response to the Auditor General’s report on Laurentian University:

“There is no denying the harm caused by the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) process at Laurentian University. Hundreds of people lost their jobs, and thousands of students were negatively affected.

We are grateful to the Auditor General for her report on Laurentian University. We now have a clear picture of what happened and how to prevent this kind of destruction from happening again.

New Democrats will continue to work with Laurentian University and the community of Greater Sudbury to build a successful future for everyone.”
