QUEEN’S PARK – Marit Stiles, Leader of the Official Opposition, demanded a better deal for Ontario’s schools amidst funding shortfalls.
“While this government neglects their responsibilities to our children, parents are stuck paying out-of-pocket for education supports, activities, and even mental health supports,” said Stiles.
“Schools are reaching a breaking point,” said Stiles. “Students, parents, teachers – our education system – are suffering from this government’s cuts.”
The Ontario NDP motion called on the government to increase their funding for public education by $1,500 per child to account for inflation.
“Voting against quality education and a better deal for our classrooms is shameful. Why won’t this government make our children a priority?”
