“The NDP believes that Ontarians deserve affordable, reliable and dignified public transit.

Mr. Ford’s confusing proclamation today that he will build subways everywhere in Ontario is not a real plan to invest in the services that everyday families need, and it undermines real transit plans and priorities.

Andrea Horwath and the NDP platform committed to make transit better for families and commuters by covering 50 per cent of net operating costs for transit across Ontario, bringing all-day two-way GO service between Toronto and Kitchener-Waterloo, supporting the Hamilton LRT, prioritizing Toronto’s Downtown Relief Line, restoring the Northlander’s passenger service and developing a Southwest transportation strategy.

Ontario families need Mr. Ford to take transit seriously.”
