Stiles calls on Ford to fire Piccini after reports show hand-picked SDF recipient embroiled in financial mismanagement

QUEEN’S PARK – Marit Stiles, Leader of the Official Opposition, has issued an open letter to the Premier calling for the Minister of Labour, David Piccini, to be fired.

Stiles is renewing her calls following a bombshell report from The Trillium about the Minister’s hand-picked SDF recipient being referred to the Ontario Provincial Police following a forensic audit:

"Doug Ford's Minister of Favours released $37 million to a company whose finances are a mess,” said Stiles.

“The Minister proudly admitted on live radio that he hand-picked Keel Digital Solutions to receive grants despite not meeting the criteria. The people of Ontario deserve to know if their hard-earned tax dollars are being handed over without any real due diligence.

“Given the Minister’s close personal ties, this raises further concerns about the pattern of preferential treatment within this government.

“It’s time to clean up this mess and end the pay-to-play schemes. The buck stops with the Premier, and he needs to fire his Minister.”
