STILES: We need to keep people working and stop good auto jobs from leaving

TORONTO — Marit Stiles, Leader of the Official Opposition has issued the following statement in response to the news of Stellantis laying workers off in Windsor and General Motors cutting shifts in Oshawa:

“We cannot waste a single second; we need to see action now. Thousands of workers, their families, and communities are facing fresh new uncertainties from Trump’s tariffs.

“I urge the Premier to reassure workers and their families by delivering a real plan to keep good auto jobs in Oshawa and Windsor, and to act to prevent manufacturing equipment from being shipped south.

“Ontario’s auto workers built General Motors and our province invested heavily in Stellantis. We cannot just ‘wait and see’ while these companies take a page out of Trump’s playbook and throw the future of thousands of workers and their families into chaos.”

Workers are counting on us to fight like hell for every auto job.”
