You’re invited to our Post-Secondary Education Townhall happening this Friday (tomorrow) evening in Peterborough at the OPSEU/SEFPO Regional Office.

We’re coming together at a critical moment for post-secondary education in our region. Trent University recently announced a large deficit, prompting future cuts to programs. During that same week, Fleming College and St. Lawrence College announced a merger due to budget constraints. All of these institutions serve as major community hubs, centres of learning, and employers for Peterborough and beyond.

It is not clear what the full impact of these financial difficulties and institutional changes will be on students, faculty, and the community. But it is clear what the cause is: Doug Ford continues to underfund Ontario’s post-secondary education system. 

Join us in Peterborough this Friday, May 29th at 6 PM for an in-person Townhall, where we’ll discuss these changes with MPP Peggy Sattler, the ONDP's Shadow Minister for Colleges and Universities, alongside a panel of educators, students, and labour leaders.

Together, we'll continue to fight these cuts!
