PRE-ELECTION VIDEOGRAPHER AND EDITOR

Job Summary

The Ontario NDP is seeking a talented Videographer and Editor to join our digital team on a full-time temporary basis. Are you passionate about creating compelling visual content that drives engagement and supports our movement for economic justice? Are you skilled in video production and storytelling? If so, we want you to help amplify our message across platforms like Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and more.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the digital director, lead videographer, and social media team to creative video content.
  • Participate in meetings and collaborate with other team members to conceptualize, clip, produce, edit and/or finalize videos.
  • Capture, source, and/or animate additional images, video, and assets for b-roll as needed.
  • Select appropriate music and sound effects and report appropriate music usage.
  • Shoot video content in studio and travel with the Tour team when needed.
  • Archive and organize projects to streamline productions
  • Meet video teams’ publishing schedules.
  • Operate in a nimble, fast-paced environment.
  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated strategic political judgment and existing knowledge of Ontario politics and current affairs
  • Proficiency with Davinci Resolve, or other NLE software.
  • Studio and location lighting experience is an asset.
  • Experience with basic colour-grading and audio mixing.
  • Photography experience is an asset.
  • Willingness to work long and irregular hours in a busy, including weekends, in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Willingness to travel around the province as required to gather regional footage and footage of MPPs and candidates.
  • A self-starter who pays close attention to detail and is highly organized, capable of managing competing requests and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Must be prepared to use their own equipment in combination with the lead videographer’s equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

The position is covered by the COPE 343 Collective Agreement and falls under the Tier 4 category.
