Statement from NDP Energy and Climate Change critic Peter Tabuns on Hydro One compensation

Ontario NDP Energy and Climate Change critic Peter Tabuns released the following statement on Thursday regarding planned compensation for the CEO of Hydro One:

“Doug Ford’s attempt to impose his political will and install allies at the top of Hydro one has cost ratepayers over $100 million in botched deals and severance payments. Now we see that he still plans to pay the Hydro One CEO between $1.5 million and $2.75 million a year. Only Doug Ford would think spending more than $100 million in order to pay someone $2 million a year is a cost saving measure. It would be funny, if Ontario households weren’t left footing the bill.”
