Only New Democrats stand strong with workers. Conservatives and Liberals pander to well-connected, wealthy insiders.
When workers win anywhere, workers win everywhere
Workers in Ontario and across the country are struggling to make ends meet, facing inadequate wages, poor working conditions, and a lack of job security. These challenges not only impact individual workers and their families but also have significant consequences for our communities and economy as a whole. It's time for a change.
In Ontario, Ford's Conservatives have not only failed to address the pressing needs of workers but have also taken active measures to fight workers in court, undermine collective bargaining rights, and suppress wages.
That's what their appeal of Bill 124 is all about. Also known as the "Protecting a Sustainable Public Sector for Future Generations Act," the bill imposes a cap on annual wage increases for public sector employees, limiting them to just 1% per year for a three-year period. The bill affects a wide range of workers, including nurses, teachers, and other public sector professionals, who are already struggling with the rising cost of living in Ontario.
In contrast, Marit Stiles and the Ontario NDP are committed to standing up for workers and fighting for their rights – these are the principles that form the foundation of our party.
On a national level, over 155,000 public sector workers went on strike, having been without a contract since June 2021. Their demands for fair wages, improved work-life balance, job security, and better protections for remote work was met with resistance from the Federal government – but workers won, because people power works.
As New Democrats, we will always fight to:
- Ensure fair wages that keep up with the cost of living
- Foster a healthy work-life balance for all employees
- Guarantee job security and equitable treatment for workers

SIGN: Ford's Conservatives must drop their Bill 124 appeal
Public Sector Workers have sacrificed so much for everyday Ontarians. But instead of investing in them, Ford's Conservatives are taking them to court.
